MOUNT KILIMANJARO
Mount Kilimanjaro is the Crown of Tanzania. Rising abruptly from the open plains capped by snow and frequently fringed by clouds. It is one of Africa’s classic images and the roof of Africa.
At 19,344 feet, it is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest walkable summit in the world. The diameter of its base is an incredible 40 miles.
Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano. Ominous rumbles can sometimes be heard and gases emerge from the fume holes in the Crater. Although just three degrees south of the equator the peaks of both Kibo and Mawenzi have permanent caps of snow and ice.
The 18 – mile trek takes four to five /Six days.

Mount Kilimanjaro may be climbed by anyone who is healthy with the assistance of a professional guide, porters and a cook.

The Main Trekking/Hiking route is MARANGU the most popular and easiest way to the SUMMIT with an overnights stop at Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut and Kibo Hut.

THE MAIN CLIMB ROUTES ARE:
MARANGU ROUTE

This is the most popular easiest way to the summit. The trail has huts along its route with all the basic necessities. No technical skill is required for these 5 days and 4 nights trek. The trek can also be taken in 6 days/5 nights to aid acclimatization with an extra day at Horombo hut.

CLIMB ITINERARY 6 DAYS /5 NIGHTS
Day 1
From Marangu Gate, you ascend a cleared ridge trial to Mandara Hut. The first overnight stop Marangu – Mandara Hut is 1830m-2700m 4- 5 hours trek.

Day 2
From Mandara Hut the trial passes through a short stretch of Forest and wooded stream into grassland. Horombo Hut is reached after Six hours trek and is 11km from Mandara Hut. (Mandara – Horombo Hut is 2700m- 3720 m).

Day 3
Day exaction at the Horombo Hut to explore Mawenzi peak and to aid acclimatization with an extra day at Horombo Hut, for the next day long hours trek.

Day 4
From Horombo – Kibo Hut, the Landscape now became more rocky and rugged until the Saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Horombo –Kibo Hut is 3720m - 4703m and 5-6 hours trek.

Day 5
From Kibo Hut –Gillman’s Point is 5680m to Uhuru Peak is 5895m. The climb takes almost 10-12 hours. It is normal to start this day’s trek (Midnight) at 2 am or earlier to accomplish the demanding 5 hrs in the dark. As the Sun rises, you should be at Gillman’s Point on the edge of the crater. A further hour by day break time will permit the Final push to UHURU Peak. The highest point in Africa; There are stunning views and is very interesting in life time experience. And you will be rewarded with spectacular views, and a tremendous feeling of satisfaction in conquering this mighty peak. The descent is much quicker.
After a fast descent to Kibo Hut for a meal and rest, continue to descend to Horombo Hut for fifth day overnight.

Day 6
From Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate is 10-12 hours trek, easy descent to the Gate, then picked and transfer to Arusha for your Post extension trips to the Magic in the Wilderness Travel. To experience living in harmony with our Mother Earth
